I have known Lucy for a number of years, and each health problem was different. Every time I approached her, she was friendly, thorough, and very knowledgeable. She has really helped me and given me the information/tools to help myself to assist my digestion and my blood sugar levels as my HbA1C was tested by my GP and was high. With her help I managed to reduce this to within the normal range.
Lucy was recommended to me by a friend who she’d help resolve a stubborn and persistent digestive problem. And what a recommendation it turned out to be! Like my friend, I’d been suffering from digestive difficulties most of my adult life, complicated by international travel and unwelcome visitors to my microbiome. When the problem became acute, I consulted Lucy and, by following her expert advice, made a full recovery.
Indeed, I haven’t felt better in decades. Lucy is a true enthusiast who combines expertise in nutritional health with skill as a therapist. Her theoretical knowledge has clearly be honed by years of clinical practice. I felt confident in her abilities and extremely well supported throughout the period of treatment. I can’t recommend her highly enough.
I came to see Lucy feeling really low about my self. I had awful painful jawline acne that I couldn’t shift and make up wasn’t cutting it anymore. I felt knackered all the time, and my weight was going up. I would start a diet on Monday (having eaten junk food all weekend knowing I was going on a diet), last until Wednesday eating tiny amounts of food and fall of the wagon.
Lucy immediately put me at ease, and explained things in a way that finally made sense to me and clicked. Putting together a meal plan with her was a great experience, I could eat foods I actually liked and I didn’t have to cut out all the foods I enjoyed. We worked on including foods that made me feel full and nourished, and over a few weeks figured out certain foods that made my skin worse.
Lucy did a great job of recommending foods I could have instead of the foods that worsened my skin. 6 months later and I have lost 15kg, and my skin has cleared up. I have been so happy. It wasn’t an over night effort, I saw Lucy several times to keep on track as she was always so positive and encouraging. I finally feel on top of my PCOS and have identified foods that work for me and foods that don’t.
After a very long painful 10 months of “traditional” treatment trying to establish why I was in a huge amount of pain taking more and more pain relief (culminating in an investigative operation – yes cut open!!) I decided enough was enough – my doctor had at this point said “you’ve got IBS take some pills”, without trying to establish the root cause of the issue. When I went to see Lucy I was post op so not really eating which worked really well as it meant I went along to our first session armed with my food diary and a vague idea that milk caused me an issue. I was tasked with leaving dairy out of my diet and keeping a diary of everything I ate (that alone really made me think about whether I wanted that biscuit!!).
We established I have a dairy sensitivity so I went very quickly from not being able to do anything to being able to go back to the gym, running, walking 7 – 8 miles each day and high intensity workouts. It also seemed that the dairy sensitivity was masking other symptoms so I have dramatically reduced my carb intake and as such I have a much better relationship with food – I still sometimes reach for the biscuit tin or have a sandwich but those occasions are few and far between.
I saw Lucy for around 10 months – probably about 5 or 6 times in that duration. In this time she discovered I have a dairy sensitivity; that I can’t handle carbs too well, educated me on the foods I should/should not be eating (and why) and sorted out some supplements for me to keep me in tip top shape. Lucy also gave me some fantastic recipes and ideas for meals that aren’t just salads.

I sought Lucy’s professional advice after years of trying every new diet, to no avail. I have always been extremely active, exercising daily and eating what I felt was a sensible, low sugar, calorie diet but unable to lose weight. After having had breast cancer and surgery and follow up treatments I’d gained a stone in weight which I could not lose. I’d resorted to the 5-2 fasting which was showing no results and making me quite miserable.
When I first went to see Lucy, having completed the food plan and health survey I was extremely impressed with her obvious detailed nutritional knowledge and the fact she looked at me as an individual and she was going to tailor my strategy to my particular needs. I was initially concerned that one of the elements of my strategy was that I needed to eat more as I was basically not taking in enough calories so my body was holding on to every calorie I ate. She also explained that my years of low fat diet and calorie counting were not providing a nutritionally balanced diet which my body needed.
I confess I went away thinking I’d come back another stone heavier when I next saw her. I initially actually found it hard to eat the advised number of calories. However, to my delight when I returned, I’d already started to lose weight which was incredible. We have since then worked on changing my attitude to food and I now have a really positive view on food and understand more of what my body needs and I no longer fixate on calories. I lost almost half a stone and feel so much happier in my clothes and in myself. The food strategy we have now is a way of life and I don’t see it as a diet at all.
I like being able to make appointments to see Lucy where she will offer advice on any areas of concerns or questions I may have, but also have had Skype meetings with her, which are helpful when time is short. I would not hesitate recommending Lucy’s bespoke nutrition service to anyone.
I’ve had on-going health issues since I was a teenager. Every year I seemed to be going to the doctors more and more but getting less and less help. I wasn’t sure what a nutritionist could do for me, but I’d heard such excellent things about Lucy that I thought it was worth a go.
From the moment I met Lucy I felt that there was hope in dealing with my IBS, constipation and undiagnosed tummy pains thanks to her friendly, empathic and competant manner. She immediately helped me strip back my diet (which is a lot easier than it sounds thanks to her support) to recognise what was affecting me, and gave me supplements to aid my health. I have had gastric issues for around 10 years, doctors told me it was IBS and I tired removing foods like dairy etc from my diet. I even had investigative procedures to see why I kept getting anemic and low in B12 but they couldn’t work it out until very recently when I was diagnosed with a very rare condition called Gastro Autoimmune Disease. After a operation the hospital said that there was nothing more they can do for now. I was lacking in nutrition and desperate to feel better.
